It is a joy to welcome you here. I am learning to live beyond the false divide that has taught so many women to set aside holy parts of our erotic wisdom in order to be respected in a world shaped by misogynoir. Too often, women are forced into narrow roles: either “good,” chaste, and virtuous—or “bad,” promiscuous, and shameful.

My womanist sexual ethic holds a different truth. I believe this opposition is not of God, but a tool of domination that robs us of the freedom to be fully human—both spiritually and sexually whole. The “good girl” story lures us into denying our erotic power, and shame convinces us to keep parts of ourselves hidden. Yet, we were never meant to live divided.

As a reflection of the Divine, I hold both light and shadow. Both are sacred, both are redeeming, and both are needed for healing—within myself, within those I love, and within the wider world. I trust that Spirit waits for us in the very places we’ve been taught to repress, longing for us to return home to ourselves so that what was broken can be restored.

My prayer for you is this:
May the Creator give you courage to walk toward your healing without apology.
May the Lord remind you daily of your infinite capacity to love and be loved.
And may the Spirit breathe new life into what has been taken, so that you rise in strength, beauty, and wholeness—bringing honor to your ancestors and peace to your soul.
